Founded in 2004, this event is organised by volunteers from the Leamington Round Table, and supported by Spa Striders and other local groups such as 41 Club. Now attracting around 2,500 runners each year, over £450,000 has been raised to date.
Running costs are partially supported by our title sponsor, Wright Hassall – a leading local law firm. Proceeds are used to help local good causes such as the homeless, community youth groups and school projects.
1. RACE START TIME, DATE, AND LOCATION
The event takes place at 10am, Sunday, 7th April 2024, starting at Newbold Terrace East in Leamington Spa and finishing at Mill Gardens, next to Jephson Gardens.
The race is supported by a professional race timing company (including chip timing).
Your race number and timing chip will be posted to you 2 weeks before the event, along with an Event Booklet
2. THE EVENT
This 10km multi-terrain course takes you through some of the best parks and gardens Royal Leamington Spa has to offer.
Please arrive in good time for the 10.00 am start. We advise arriving between 9.00 am and 9.30 am.
The race starts at Newbold Terrace East and heads in an anti-clockwise direction around Newbold Comyn (where the golf course used to be), before heading back into Royal Leamington Spa town centre, taking in Victoria Park and Jephson Gardens. The finish area is at Mill Gardens, where you will be greeted by large crowds of spectators.
The course is a combination of paved surfaces and bridleways. All the road sections of the course are closed to traffic, making this both a safe and quick course to get around.
There will be a goodie bag, with a medal for all runners. You must wear your timing chip to record your time – click here for chip fitting instructions. There is no need to register again on the day.

4. CAR PARKING
Parking is available on the roads surrounding the start and finish area. Please consider local residents and park only where it is safe and legal to do so. Do not park on the course itself. Be aware that Leamington Spa now has pay parking. Free parking is mostly available south of the river. For more details on local car parks, visit Warwick District Council parking info. 5. BAGGAGE STORAGE
Simply tear off the numbered strip from your runner’s number and attach it to your bag. Then hand into the Baggage Storage, situated at the finish area in Mill Gardens. Un-tagged bags will not be accepted.
6. UNAUTHORISED NUMBER SWOPPING
This is forbidden as it affects our timing systems and runner’s results/positions. Anyone caught doing so, will be excluded from this and future races and void any claims to trophies and prize money. For questions about this, please see here.
7. TOILETS
Temporary toilet cubicles and urinals will be adjacent to the start area.
8. HEADPHONES
Noise-canceling earphones/headphones are prohibited and, whilst we discourage the use of other earphones/headphones in running events, participants choosing to use them should ensure they are set to a low enough volume that instructions from event officials can be clearly understood.
9. TIMING
When you cross the start and finish lines, your time will be automatically recorded. You must cross both the start and finish line wearing your chip to get a finish time. See the instructions in this leaflet for correct chip fitting. There will be computers available in the finishers area for you to look up your time and position.
Your bib race number and timing chip will be enclosed with the information pack posted out to you 2 weeks before the event. Your bib race number should NOT be folded and made smaller, but simply pinned to the front of your shirt. Our standard UHF loop tag for running comes pre-attached to a Tyvek strip. DO NOT remove this, you’ll destroy the chip if you try! The tag can be worn on either shoe, just follow these instructions.
10. FIRST AID
Med Event UK (Paramedics and nurses) will be in attendance on the course and at the finish area. If you experience any problems during the event please contact any marshal or official who will be able to contact the medical staff. If you are unwell or injured before the event it is in your own best interests to consider pulling out and not run.
